The purpose of this web site is to get Steve "Woz" Wozniak to visit Dubai and to give a speech to a group of Apple-fans here. We're of the opinion that Apple-fans throughout the Middle East deserve some good Apple-related events and this is one we'd like to try to make happen.

why steve wozniak?

If you're an Apple fan, or perhaps even if you're not, the name Steve Wozniak is well known. He co-founded Apple Computer, now Apple Inc, together with Steve Jobs and was the mastermind behind most of the company's early products, like the Apple I and II.

He's still an employee of Apple although it's more for symbolic reasons than anything else, but he has a very special place in Apple history and the hearts and minds of Apple fans. For many years he's also been active with Apple User Groups, taking part in meetings and activities. You can see one example of him visiting a user group here.

joint effort

We need to all join together to make this happen. We need sponsors and we need help with all kinds of things. This is not a simple task but together we can make this idea come true. We need to get Woz his fee for doing this, first-class travel, accommodation, and more. But first of all, we need to get his attention and interest in coming here. Without that nothing else matters. And that's what this site is primarily about, raising awareness of this effort and engaging as many Apple-fans as possible.
